I am not a police officer in Ohio, but he better double check his code. Here is a the law that I found for Ohio (others are also on the site).
"OHIO
4,500 pounds and under, 24 inches max front, 26 inches rear. 4,501 to 7,500 is 27 inches front, 29 inches rear. 7,501 to 10,000, it's 28 inches front and 31 inches rear. If the body or truck-bed height is altered, the difference in height between the body floor and/or the bed floor to the top of the framerail can be no more than 4 inches."
ok so i just ran outside and braved the cold to check for you guys.....mine is 25" front and 25" rear to the center of the bottom of the bumper, which is how the law reads since my bumpers are in the stock location. That is with a small amount of scrap steel in the bed too, maybe 300 lbs....
I'm guessing my springs are about (2008-1975=)33 years old.....LOL. There is a load of scrap in there like I said, which is a whole flatbed cut up, so it may be more weight than I figured, and 3+ inches difference in tire size(not actually 33's they are the p78 buckshots), Anyway yeah i got roughly 25".
ground to center of front bumper is 27" on 31 1/2" tires(stock dia.) and the front springs are original
btw, weight is 5180, according to scales at the landfill
