Coil 400m
Can someone help me with a coil question. I know that coils almost never have problems. What would cause this one to have splits/cracks horizonal on the coil neck where the high voltage wire plugs in? It looks as if someone has stuck a screwdriver in there and prized on it. Every time I work on this truck I find things not done correctly. Double gasket on the fuel pump. The valve covers about to fall off. Today I found the egr valve wasn't even connected. The engine wasn't pinging and was running good. Still running good but can't get the rough idle out. At 600 rpm it seems to be mis-firing. I do not know what has been done to this engine. Please tell me what y'all think and thanks for all replys

Check the coil for the misfire problem. If you know anybody who has one you can swap it out and see if it helps. If you have a point distributor you really need to pull the cap and inspect the cap and rotor and the points for wear and proper adjustment, you can also us a hand held vac pump to check the advance, or good ole lung power.
