door lock caps
SS cap on door locks, I need a place to buy them. I have checked with the dealer,"just sell the cylinder". Checked with several locksmith companies, "we don't do auto". Checked the salvage yards in my area, " we let them go with the doors" I need the caps for two doors, the ones on my cylinders are missing the little door that keeps out dirt and some water. I have heard that there is a cap kit for locksmiths where they can replace the caps, but no one has it. I just don't want to replace two lock cylinders, and have them rekeyed, for two tiny dust doors.

Well! After trying for a couple of days both on the phone and on the Web, I decided to look at the lock cylinders again. I looked them over and decided that "IF" I could get them apart without ruining them I might be able to salvage them. Low and behold I did! I now have the cylinders back together and ready to reinstall. I just have to wait for the new plastic door handle for the pass. side. Its nice to know I just saved $200.00+.
