They should be torqued to a spec.. not sure how much.. They will seem loose, but if torqued properly, they won't leak. (too much torqued is not good)... Both ends" of the high pressure "line" (not the fittings) should wiggle slightly if installed properly.. The o ring is what seals the oil..
