I know the 2V and 4V heads have different size exhaust ports but are the bolts that hold the headders on in the same place? The reason I ask is can I get a 4V exhaust system and bolt it straight up to my 2V cylinder heads? I need a new exhaust system but soon I am planning on 4V heads, I know I shouldn't put 4V headders to 2V heads but will it work just for a little wile?
Same bolt holes & location.
Stock 4V manifolds will leak on the US 2V heads at the lower right area. They seal on the AU heads because of the wider contact surface. Large tube, 1 7/8" and larger 4V headers may leak in the same area on the 2V US heads.

It depends. I used Hooker super comp hedders for 4v heads, 1 7/8" primaries, and used them on 2v heads, and they sealed fine. I used Mr Gasket Ultra seal gaskets for the 2v heads, and they didnt leak at all. Different hedders may leak, all I know is mine didnt.
You could probably make a thin spacer out of aluminum to cover the gap temporarily. When I put a 2.3 into my Ranger that had a 2.0, the ports on the 2.3 were bigger and the 2.0 intake wouldn't cover them.I wanted to keep the stock 2.0 carb and intake so I took some aluminum plate, traced out the shape of the gasket on it and cut it with a jigsaw.I used a hole saw to rough in the ports and my diegrinder to finish it off( it was easier than it sounds). It sealed up fine and I have been running it that way for about 2 years.
Well I tell you this, I have put 4V headers onto a 2V head and the results were not pretty. Besides being very loud, the leaking exhaust burned all of my spark plug boots. .
I didn't do this on purpose but was told the headers were for a 2V angine by the guy I got them from, I was inexperienced with these engines at the time. I had to replace the headers with a 2v set.
