Replacing back seat w/captains chairs - Possible?

Hello all! I am new to these forums. I am going this Friday to look at an Excursion and I was wondering if the back seat (not the third seat) can be replaced with two captains chairs? My wife prefers those and so now I am doing my diligent research!

Thanks

I sit just a matter of removing the bench and then using the same mounts for the captains chairs?

I rode in my buddies Ex in the rear captain's chairs and I found them to be extremely narrow and uncomfortable.

I like the rear bench much better. If you are worried about access to the 3rd seat, it's not hard with the rear bench since a small part of it folds and slides forward.

My Ex has the rear bench.

Yes, it's just matter of unbolting and using the existing holes.

The larger portion slides as well, ya know.

I am getting a quote on rear captain seats for my new (to me) 01 Ex. Is there anything I need to know before I move forward on this?

I have custom made captains in my 00X It wasn't an option yet.

We did another set of front seats for the rear, way better then the ones ford designed.

Heres the bracket.

Heres the seats.

seats

Hey,
I have a 2004 limited with captains chairs and i would like a bench seat. If you bought the excursion and we are lucky enough to have the same color interior I would be willing to swap.

I am located about 60 miles west of Chicago....I see you are in/around St. Louis....perhaps a meeting in the middle somewhere. Also....when I bought the Ex, the headrest missing and so they took one from another Ex they had on their lot and so they are both there.
