Doc ,So happens I installed my rear bumper this weekend, I used the 'shorty; brackets from Mid-Fifty, I have also installed a Pros Pick Bed.
My bumper ended up being 3/8 inch below rear bed crossmember annd tucked UNDER the crossmember about 1/4 inch ...first time installed , had no idea what it would look like, I quick grabbed a drill and mounted taillamp assy's..heeehee.
Hope that gives you some idea.
I like the roll pan .the back up lights are a good thing to have.but dont you worry about someone backing into you with no bumper?there is a lot of work that could go up in smoke,if one brain dead sob gets careless.
I thought about that but also seen how flimsy those bumpers are and figured I'd take the chance. The guy who towed the panel home for me made a tight turn and curled the front bumper with no effort at all, I tried to stop him but a second or two wasn't enough time for him to react. I also thought of putting those bumperettes or what ever you call them that have the shocks behind them on either side of the licence plate but then again I'm getting tired of all extra little modifications,I want to get this thing on the road some day. If I back into something I'll wish I had put the bumper on lol.
