1998 explorer exhaust

I am installing a new tail pipe on a 1998 explorer and I am having trouble getting the new pipe in. Any suggestions?

Is this a single piece pipe? The explorers are famous for the complexity of the tailpipe. There just isn't a lot of room, and there are a lot of complicated bends. Jeeps have the same problem, though to a different extent. Can't really offer any suggestions as I haven't done a tailpipe on an explorer, though I have seen it done. Most people I know use a 2 piece tailpipe so they can weld it together once it is in place.

If your problem is getting it over the axel, and you are doing it on your back, you need to get the truck as far off the ground as possible.

A 2 post body lift may help out on this one, since it lifts the vehicle but leaves the tires and suspension unloaded, giving you more room to work with.
