my new truck has a rear driver side tire that wobbles going down the road ,i have even changed wheels and tire como and it still wobbles could i have a warped axle???
the truck is a 74 f-100 9inch rear
Second, take the tires off, see if the wheel flange is wobbling. If not, swap out the wheels, see if the wobbling wheel moved to the other side. If it did not, I suspect you have a flange fixing to break off from the axle.
Small chance, but as you are taking the Drum off prior to the 4 axle retainer bolts, look for something being sandwiched between the drum and the axle flange face. That of course would mean it was put together that way. Now if it wasn't there, then one day appeared, - probably not that. When it appeared, any interesting happen that day? Sliding into a curb or something?
If you have a dial indicator, you could check the run out on the face of the flange.
Like MB says - 'Don't drive it'.
Pull that axle and roll it on a flat bench and watch the flange wobble, look for cracks.
i have a spare truck nine inch ill pull the axle and see if it wobbles on concrete and check it for further damage as well and pull a axle from the donar rear and see if the splines r the same and of course check it as well to make sure its nice and straight ,crack free as well thanx guys, this is why i left the chey sitting on the side of the road years ago and hopped into a ford ,i love em and the peopl who loveme will help u out in time of need
