block ID

Where is the block ID and year located on a 351 Windsor? Looked all over the block under the heads, behind the bellhousing to no avail. HELP!!

re to block ID

Thanks for the info you sent, but I still need to know where the suffix is located on the BLOCK. I know it is a later block with the dished pistons in it (80,s) I don.t know what I,m buying unless I find the casting number somewhere on the block.

there cast into a flange on the left side of the block, right above where the starter bolts up. you may have to pick up the motor to read it.
