oil pressure quesstion

Hey guys.
Can anyone tell me where my oil pressure guage should me should be sitting at idle and when doing about 45 mph? I hav a 77 f150 w/400 c6.

oil pressure quesstion

my rebuilt 351M (hot) 800RPM in park 25-30 psi. In drive 20 psi. At 45 mph 60-65 psi.

I dont have that kind of a oil pressure guage. All i have is the stock guage with the needle. Could you tell me about where the needle should be?

oil pressure quesstion

Factory guages like you have are fine but if you really need to know what your pressures are and in turn need advice, you need to hook up a "wet" guage. Even just for awhile until you have an idea what what your true pressurs are. The factory guage is good to a point, but works off of electric resistance rather than true liquide pressure. They are cheap enough, easy to install, and if you have a decent parts guy, he will have a two way, mini manifold that will let you run a wet guage at the same time as you factory guage.
