Cat Delete

I installed a 4" Cat Back MBRP and really like it. Would like a little more sound though. Thinking of deleting the cat and leaving the MBRP muff. What I do need is some advice and help.

(1) What are the chances I will get ticketed in Texas, I have never had an officer look under my truck - only been stopped a couple of times in the last 10 years.

(2) Do I need to put the CAT back on for inspection?

(3) Will it impact the turbo for better or worse? Back Pressure, longer life, lower egts?

(4) Where can I get a Cat delete/test pipe to fit the stock downpipe and attach to the 4" MBRP (which already attaches to the stock cat). I have looked but these are confusing to read about etc. Not sure how to get the right one.

thanks,

Sabow

1) the chances of you being ticketed are slim I'd guess, but you never know, depends on the cop
2)yes
3)faster spool up, lower egts
4)I got mine on ebay, I had the same setup, my cat-back attached to the cat, and now to the test pipe. you just gotta make sure that the pipe is 3.5"

A 3.5" MBRP downpipe and MBRP cat delete pipe will fit the OEM tubing. This will allow you to install the OEM cat if your state requires vehicle inspections.

hey guys I have a stock cat delete pipe that I will not be using, I am pretty sure I am going to leave my cat. If any one here is interested send me a pm. It is aluminized steel not stainless and is setup to go in place of the stock cat so 3.5" in and out.

I have owned a Truck with out the Cat and one with. There is no difference in performance and EGT's. The MPG went down on the one with out the Cat. Unless you are going to go all out with a programmer, bigger Turbo and other Mod's, I would leave it on your truck.

HUH?? I saw an increase with power as well as a lower spool up time for the turbo

The EGT's went down about 100 degress and i gained about a MPG or so, any i only had 14000 miles on the truck when i removed it

I just put the MBRP cool duels on my truck, turbo back with a cat delete. The sound is great when you get on the throttle hard. On cruise I cant tell a difference in the sound. The power is noticable.
