First of all, sorry about the deal to your truck, but what did you do to deserve this?
Also depending on size of the "hole" sidewall repairs are uncommon.
"slashing" a tire sounds like "new" tire to me. At least for safety's sake.
If it were me, I would buy all new tires.

Sidewall punctures are not supposed to be repaired. Just buy new tires. however if you are in a financial situation, I would probably just plug them and not drive highway for the time being.

No tire shop will do it for liability reasons. I won't say you should do it but I have seen it done with no issues.

Your insurance may cover it depending on your type of coverage. You would have to file a police report though.

Do not plug the tires, the least would be a vulcanized patch on the inside(puncture only not slash), or install tubes in the carcass.

installing tubes would be the safest, if they are just punctured not lashed.

The problem is the sidewall gives the tire its strength, and it also undergoes the most stress, supporting both the weight and the centifugal force of the spinning tire. Whenever it passes over the load bearing part of the tire, it bows and stretches, beyond what any part of the treads face would ever experience. I would seriously doubt that any patch could reliably withstand the forces involved. Installing tubes is not safe either, as the friction that would occur between the tube and the tire can cause the tire to heat up and dangerously over-pressurize itself. It is not recommended to use tubes in a modern radial tire. If this were my vehicle, I would get new tires. If this is a common occurence, get cheap new tires.

Radial tubes are made to run in radial tires.

I used bad wording, they're not slashed like someone sawed at them with a knife but little pinholes you can't see until they're aired up,I'm wondering if the repair strips would work long enough to get to a local tire shop?

i just had my tires punctured as well, the only good thing was that i had a road hazzard insurance on my tires, so i brought them back the ones that still had good tread and the tire shop replaced them for free

A tire shop probably wont fix a sidewall puncture. We wouldnt touch that with a 10 foot pole. You can buy the plugs at a part store and do whatever you want, but like it was stated above, the sidewall of your tire is the most important part, and its like a piece of duct tape, its pretty strong until you start a tear, after that it just rips to pieces. There's a reason no one will patch those. I would say get new tires if you have the money, or used ones, or do whatever you want with the plugs.

Good luck!
