Truck: 1984 F250 Supercab XLT w/ rebuilt 460 v8 and c6 auto, dual tanks with in tank electric pumps.
What's wrong: Front tank pump is gone
Issue: I cannot figure out how to drop the tank! The bolts on the underside of the straps are 15 mm bolt heads...but I am unable to see on top to see what size of bolt head is up there...I've tried a few different ones...and I'm starting to wonder if it's a bolt head at all! Any idea what size it is if it is a bolt?
I think there are only nutserts. You only have to reverse the bolt out.
I'll check one of my trucks to see.
Years of corrosion will make these hard to remove. Spray the bolts with penetrating oil first and let it sit for an hour - even overnight - to break the bond.
My 96 Bronco was tough to remove, I can imagine what 12 more yrs of rust would do.
