My 2003 Expy has the original 6 disc CD player. I ejected all 6 cds the other day. When I went to load some new ones, I strated getting a message that says CD Error and it will not take any cds. Anyone have any idea as to what could have caused this or what I can do to fix it? Thanks!
The only problem i have had with my '04 is when the CD's are not store bought. I have about half of them self burned and every once in a while i will get a CD Error, i just unload rub it on my shirt and put it back, no problem.
It will not let me get that far. I push the "load" button. It tells me to select a slot, I select slot 1, it says moving to slot 1.....after a few seconds it says CD error. It doesn't give me a chance to insert the disc
i experienced this problem too. not always but once in a while
sometimes it doesn´t let me load a disc as you discribed
sometimes it will not eject the disc fully
i was able to work around by pushing a disc into the slot carefully after the error appears, not to make it load the disc but to push the mechanism back a little bit (mine needed only a 2mm push)
as i said it happened to me as well while ejecting a disc, and it stopped inside the player just before i would have been able to grab the disc, then I take another disk and push the stopped disc 2mm back in and it comes out like normal
this is a workaround that helped me, it might work for you as well, but I am not responsible if you damage something
Is there any way that someone could get me a picture of the rear wiper on the inside of the window and on the inside of the hatch where it meets? I have an '03 Expo and the wiper arm won't move, the motor turns the metal disc on the hatch and I can move the arm manually but they don't work together. I don't know, maybe there is a part missing or something. Thanks
I tried gently pushing a cd into the slot but that didnt work. Can someone tell me where the fuse box is? I'm not very familiar with this vehicle and I can't find it anywhere.
Passenger compartment fuse panel / power distribution box
The fuse panel is located under the right-hand side of the instrument
panel.
To remove the trim panel for access
to the fuse box, pull the panel
toward you and swing it out away
from the side and remove it. To
reinstall it, line up the tabs with the
grooves on the panel, then push it
shut.
I have the in dash 6 cd player. Removing the fuse for 20 mins and reinserting it made it act even weirder. Now when I push the load button it says all 6 slots are full....but there are no cds in the player
My wife's does the same thing on her 03. What I found out works best is to use a cd and try to push the cd thats stuck back into the player. This will allow the stuck cd to eject. I think what happens is that it gets caught on something thats why it wont come out and will mark cd error.
I am almost 100% positive there aren't and cds in the player. I will try again to insert one and see what happens. The door doesn't open so do I try to force it past the door?
try disconnecting your battery for about a minute, then hooke it back up to reset the system, your changer should say initializing when you hit the cd button. mine was jammed with cd's inside and this fixed it.
I've tried everything I can think of. There are no cds in the changer. No matter what I do whether it is trying to load one or just pushing the cd button, it says cd error on the display. Guess I will have to break down and buy a new one. Thanks for the ideas though!
