I have a 93 F150 5.8 auto . I need to replace my speedo/odometer but was wondering how i can reset the milage to match whats on the truck. I found a used one but milage is over what mine has .Due to emissions /mileage in PA im trying to keep it right. I heard that possibly you can do it with a computer or using the trip button etc. Any info would be appreciated
On the center cection of speedo if you look at back there is a couple screws holding the posom and a cable that you can unplug. and reuse in yours new speedo . But if the Posom is bad . All depends why u r swapping it. Wether bad or just putting whole cluster in.( Tach swap )
1. need to find a speedo with about same miles.
2. get or have Ford reset miles or get a new one from them $$$$
What miles u need . I got several and a local yard will sell separate.
I have 136000 on mine. My trip meter doesnt work and im looking to install a tach also . If you have something close and could give me a price with shipping then we can see if we can work it out.
All of the gauges on the cluster are removeable. Just take your speedometer/odometer out of your cluster and put it in the new cluster. Here is a link to the article on the site.
Very easy to do. I swapped out my cluster for one with a tach, and just switched over my speedometer/odometer and everything works great.
