No more emissions...yeah!
Today the old truck rolled through the emiission scam for the last time. 25 years and older here in WA state are exempt! Only do it every other year, so she is done!
My question now is, if I pull all the crap off of there, EGR valve, cats, etc, will this help mileage any and performance? The airpump has been dead for years! The motor is a 302 with the Motorcraft carb on there and a AOD tranny. Runs great, mileage not so good!
Would love to even put an aftermarket manifold on it and and a nice simple holly or edlebrock carb.
Dont mind a perk in performance but based on gas prices I could use a bit more mileage from this little motor. Gets in the low teens now and I know it can do better. Dad said it was pulling down 18+ when it was new.
Maybe the tranny has some slippage after 228k, but how does one tell that.
