OK to clear "codes" w/ engine running/driving?

OK to clear "codes" w/ engine running/driving?
I've got a MAC TaskMaster scanner and have always wondered if it do anything to the computer if I cleared codes while engine is running or while driving?

No harm done, I frequently clear codes with the engine running.
