My daughter ZX2 has developed a small problem in steering when driving down the road and change lanes for example, it feels like the pwr steering hesitates for an instant and then you have the feeling that it turns you quicker than you want to. the steering wheel is a little off center, but doesn't know if it was like that before this quirk showed up. One fellow said it was probably the rack and pinion. Barely noticable around town. Maybe we just need an alignment. It may pull to the left a little also.

It sounds like it MAY need an alignment. Ford power steering pumps are all funny to me, but it sounds like the rack may have some sort of issue. Check the fluid level and make sure it isnt low and you guys arent just trying to over correct.
