Need a New Tool Box

I am going to be changing positions at work that requires me to bring my own tools and box so here is what I am looking for:

I want a fairly large box with ball bering drawers and atleast 20" deep. I want a MAC but it is just not in the cards right now. I have looked at Waterloo as well and also a bit pricey for right now. A guy at work has a stainless steel box that he bought at Sams for like $600 it is a really nice box although I haven't been able to find them lately and was hoping you guys could point me in the right direction. I don't want this to turn into a brand war, I know MAC, MATCO, SNAP ON, and Waterloo are the best and trust me I want one bad but I just can't afford it right now. I just want a decent box for under 1K. Even just a longer bottom box would work. Is there anything you guys can think of?

How long does it need to be?
Have you asked those guys; Snap-on, Matco salesmen, if they have and trade ins/ repos?
We have a Sears scratch and dent-floor model outlet here in West Haven.
You might look in some pawnshops. Times are hard and someone out of work might have hocked their box.
That's all I can think of.
Good luck w/ your new job!

I agree talk to a Snap On or Mac rep they are always trading tool boxes. I got two used boxes Snap On Heavy Duty Road Chest and a Snap On KRA5213D(53" wide X 19" deep) I paid 2500 for the 2 of them. New cost is just shy of 5000 so there are some considerable savings. And as far Snap On and Mac boxes prices they both have two lines. The cheaper lines for Snap On are the "KRA" also called Heritage and Classic series. The Mac line is the "Tech" line. You might be able to get a really nice box for not to much more then a new cheaper brand.

You can get a 41" wide Waterloo roller cabinet for about $800. Or Costco sells a huge top and bottom stainless set for about $900. I got my Snap On 40" KRA series top and bottom used for $1500 from a Mac salesman. New is about $5000.

Thanks for your input fellas I will check on them. As for length there is really no length it needs to be just longer than standard if I don't get a top with it. I have never heard of costco do you have a link that shows that peticular box?

I'd swear I saw those same boxes Sams was selling a year or so ago at Harbor Freight. I also thought they looked like a pretty good box for $600.
