2001 Escape - Crazy Codes
My college son just bought this Escape XLT V6 4WD with 85,000 miles on it.
During heavy snow, he had to drive over a mound of snow dumped at the end of the driveway by a plow. He had it in 2WD and kind of got stuck so he put it in 4WD and gunned it to get out. When he did this the emissions system light began flashing and the engine was sputtering.
After a while - maybe after a later restart - the engine settled down but the emissions system light is still on and flashes codes now and then. Here's what he just sent me from school for the flashes he counted:
29 . 32 . 15 . 14 . 62 . 30 . 14 . 29 . 75 . 73 . 29 . 29 . 14 . 29 . 14 . 29 . 44 . 28 . 29 . 15 . 73 . 14 . 29 . 14 . 42 . 15 . 29 . 29 . 29 . 29 . 26 . 16 . 30 . 73 . 63 . 14 . 16 . 68 . 64 . 9 . 48 . 16 . 42 . 156 . 37 . 260+ (stopped counting after 260)
What on Earth does all that mean??????????

This will not flash out codes (Not the "Engine" light anyway... the 4X4 and SRS lights might flash a code though).
This needs to be scanned with an OBDII compatible code scanner... or have him stop by a local Autozone or Advanced auto parts, they will scan it for free.
