I just purchased a used edelbrock performer off ebay and its non-egr, i have my original intake manifold and egr plate, could i just use the old egr plate and mount my old 2 barrel on it so i can get it smogged and then bolt on my 4 barrel?

Leave the old 2V manifold on for smog tests. Keep the whole Man & 2V carb around for future inspections. One thing nice about the Cleveland series... A dry intake :-)
