How Cheap can I get a old Ford F250? Or a good used car?

Depends on your standards. Car probably 2K and lower. And truck probably 5K and lower depending on your standards.

I checked craigslist there and all the trucks was newer than I want or way out of my price range

Second on the Wheels for you. You probably can check their adds online too to get an idea of what is available and for what prices. There are usually bargains locally too if you aren't in a hurry and just keep your eyes open. Shoot occasionally someone basically gives something away if a person is willing to take it off their hands and can swap a tranny or engine to get it running. And it sounds like you have been there and done that.

I have a 85 F150 I'll be picking up my engine next month from the machine shop. I'm cheap my check doesn't go far so usually I get a vehicle that next to nothing and do a lot of work on it.
