I was given a boat with a Ford motor in it. It had a 2 barrel manifold # D1OE-9425-AA. It also has that little "F" inside a C symbol that might indicate Cleveland foundry. The heads are marked DOOE on one exhaust port, 351 on another and 26 on another which I take to mean a '70 set of heads. It came from a '77 boat but it might be a re-power. I searched through the archives and from what I can gather it appears it might be a Cleveland. Am I on the right track?
Thanks, Steve
Not sure, but I have never heard of the cleveland having their cubic inch displacement actually written on its heads. I have never seen the C casting mark your talking about either, but I might be wrong.
Check the intake port sizes. If they're absolutley enormous, they're probably Cleveland heads. Check the combustion chamber too. If the chamber is a half hemisphere (dome), they're open chambered heads. If they're some other shape, you might have some very desirable closed chamber heads. Intake valve should be no less than 2" on the Cleveland.
actually its even easier, check the intake. water neck on intake its not a cleveland. if the water neck is on the block, its a cleveland or more proper a 335 series engine.
