Ok so I went to open an email attachment today off of Microsoft Office 2003 and guess what it wouldn't open it just highlighted. Aparently (after doing some reading) when you download the new update it blocks all email attachments with ***** and some others. On the website it says this may cause problems for users but security comes first. There is no way that I could find to get around this other than going into the program and changing some stuff which I do not feel comfortable doing. I was going to call tech support and they want $49.99 per issue. This is redicoulous! Is there anyone else having this problem?
you should be able to go into the security settings and adjust what you want to recieve for email.....and shame on microsoft chrging 50 bucks for tech support

I did i put it on low and still can't open it. Microsoft took it upon them selves to make this decision for me. And here is the kicker I CAN'T OPEN ATTACHMENTS IN OLD EMAILS EITHER even ones I have already opened.
It is either Office professional with Outlook or Outlook Express..
I assume you mean Office Professional with Outlook..
Do you have more info on the update like Knowledge base Number?
Yeah Office Professional with Outlook. All I know about the update is it idid it automatically it even went and shut down my cpu for me so it could install without notifying me.

That is why I turn off full automatic updates.. Just set it to automatic download then notify you to install them..
