Locking screws on roller rockers?

I have a pair of heads with a new set of Crane roller rockers already installed by someone else (it's a long story). The studs and guide plates are locked down nicely. I adjusted the valves (new rebuild on a stand at this point) by turning what is basically a tall nut which slides the rocker assy further down the stud. To lock it in place, it appears that the internal hex-head set screw (allen) gets screwed into this tall nut until it hits the top of the stud. Is that all that keeps it from coming apart? Just the tip of the set screw pushing on the top of the stud? I could add loctite to that setscrew, but that would only lock it in the nut, and both could come loose as a unit. My spidey senses are tingling on this one.
Am I just paranoid, or am I missing a locknut or something?
Thanks!

that sounds about right for the posilock setup,a set screw inside the rocker nut.are you running a mechanical lifter cam? i'm running a mech. cam w/roller rockers and posilocks but would prefer a different style nut on the rocker that will hold the mech. adjustment, like the regular nuts for adjustable hydraulic setups.anybody know if they hold?

Steve, those posilocks with the internal set screw work just fine. Kinda like a double locknut only on internal threads.
Don't worry.

Once you set the valve lash you Jam the set screw to lock it into place that's it. Don't try anything else the jaming effect will hold it in place.
When I did my first 400 build up I would lock the set screw and then add a little twist with the wrench, Like you I didn't think it would hold, Well all I ended up doing was braking a bunch of studs off due to the extra little twist I added the Hardend studs didn't like that extra twist either.
So set the lash Give the set screw a twist with a allen wrench and move to the next one.

Thanks. It makes me feel better that I was not the only one to question the set-up. The end of a stud is a small surface to bite into, but apparently enough. Good to hear that it seems to hold up.
Thanks again.
