e40d swap 97 in a 92?

Ok my old e40d has 188k on it, and im pretty sure no rebuilds. Rather than rebuild this one, i got a line on 97 5.4l e40d for about 650- salvage yard says 44k miles on the tranny. any ideas if the tranny is a direct swapint a 92 4x4 aside from maybe a bell housing? thoughts?

If its a 5.8 u r OK . But I was under impression that the 5.4 Newer truck or modular engine bell housing was different.

you know i was under the impression that the bellhousing was removable, after further investigation i guess its not thanks.

i do not think it will work.

the bell housing is part of the case.
