Never thought I would be in a Diesel! After watching this forum took the plunge and WOW I am happy. I am in a 350, LOVE the torque (my Dodge Hemi just lays down like a beaten dog compared to this). I will be towing my NASCAR soon and moving to my first 5th wheel. Estimated trailer and race car weight will be 7000. Anyway I need a 5th wheel for the bed that will be removable. I prefer quality. Any suggestions as to what manufacturer(s) are popular please? Thanks!!
I prefer the B&W (check the internet) because it is the heaviest on the market and it can be removed easily so you have an unobstructed bed. I don't think you can find a better one but it is a little pricey around 1250 for everything.
There is a place in Union, MO that installs the B&W for $450 including the hitch. It works well with the long or the short bed and stows easily inside itself when not in use. It also has available adapters such as a 5th wheel insert that fits right in the hitch.
I agree with the B&W The nicest and cleanest setup I have found. The basic turnover ball will cost 4-500 bucks installed. The 5th wheel companion I believe is around $600.00 IIRC.

I use a Classic Industries trailer, mine is the 28 foot Dominator, although a conventional hitch, not a 5th wheel. You might want to check them out, they do have some contingency programs for racers.
