7.3L Delayed Starting
I own a 1998 E350 Cargo van. Over the last few days when attempting to start,
the engine turns over for 3-4 seconds before starting. What should I suspect as to what is causing the delay ? Fuel ? Starter ? What ? I am interested to know what to look for.

I would check the fuel. Behind the fuel filter is a yellow lever that you can turn to drain off any water. Check that that might be your problem. How old are the batteries? Assuming that the E350 has two batteries. That can also be your problem. You can go to the auto parts and have them check the batteries. And do yourself a favor replace both of them. It will save you heart ache in the end. Hope this helps

Slow Start- Follow up - Parts Cost
AVR test and report- Shop performed AVR test ALT. output 45 amp SPEC = 130
FAILED.
BATTERY TEST 850 CCA Battery test = 662 CCA

Recommendation: 1. Replace alternator 2. Replace engine battery
