New Direction for the war on terrorists. Send Service Vets over 60 years of age.
I am over 60 and the Armed Forces think I'm to old to track down terrorists.
You can't be older than 42 and join the military. They've got this whole thing *** backwards.
Instead of sending 18 year olds off to fight, they ought take us old guys.
You shouldn't be able to join a military unit until you're at least 40 years old.
FOR STARTERS:
Researchers say 18 to 25 year olds think about sex every 10 seconds.
Us older guys only think about sex a couple of times a day,
leaving us more than 28,000 seconds per day to concentrate on the enemy.
Young guys haven't lived long enough to be CRANKY, and a cranky soldier is a DANGEROUS soldier.
"My back hurts, I can't sleep, I'm tired, I"m cold and I'm hungry."
We are impatient and maybe letting us kill some mother****er that desperately deserves it,
will make us feel better and shut us up for a while.
Most 18 year olds don't even like to get up before 10 a.m.
Old guys ALWAYS get up early to pee, so what the hell.
I'm tired and I can't sleep and since I'm already up,
I may as well be up killing some fanatical SOB.
If captured we wouldn't spill any military secrets.
Because we'd forget them as soon as we heard them.
Hell I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning.
Name, rank and serial number would be a real brainteaser for us.
Boot camp wold be easier for us older guys.
We're use to getting screamed and yelled at by our wives and our bosses.
We're also use to "soft food." We've also developed an appreciation for guns.
We've been using them for years as an excuse to get out of the house
and away from all the screaming and yelling.
They could lighten up on the obstacle courses however.
I've been in combat and I didn't see a single 20 foot wall with ropes hanging over the side,
nor did I ever do any pushups after completing basic training.
I can hear the Drill Sgt. in the new "over 60," military now. "Drop and give me...er...one"
Actually, the running part is kind of a waste of time/energy too.
I've never seen anyone outrun a bullet.
An 18 year old has the whole world ahead of him. He's still learning how to shave,
and how to start a conversation with a pretty girl. He still hasn't figured out
that a baseball cap has a brim to shade his eyes, not the back of his neck.
These are all great reasons to keep our young people home and learn a little more
about life before sending them off into harm's way.
Let us old guys track down those dirty rotten coward terrorists.
The last thing an enemy would want to see right now is a couple of million
pissed off old farts with attitudes and automatic weapons who know,
their best years are already behind them, so they have nothing to lose.
If nothing else, put us on border patrol....we'd have it secured the first night.
"BANG" "halt."
As a proud former Air Force paratrooper I'd be happy to volunteer for an over 60 unit.
Also almost all of our elected officials that vote to send our troops to war,
are over 50, they might think twice if they knew they might be called up.
(Just for the record. I'm NOT against the war. Just making an observation.)
Share this with your senior friends.
I've purposely put it in big type so they can read it.
How many 60 year olds will put their neck on the line for minimum wage
Maybe minimum wage where you come from but down here in the civilized world the U.S. military member is pretty well compensated for his service. If all you look at is base pay for a new recruit with no rank and no time in service, yeah, it looks bad. But add in all the other types of pay, allowances and benefits (much of it is untaxed) and you don't have a bad paycheck.
I take home well over $1000 a week when I go on Active Duty. Not exactly minimum wage.
When not deployed the only reason my money last is I don't pay rent electric or water bills since I live in the barracks. Out here I get about 4,500 a month. Trust me it aint worth it.
Also on the 60 year olds in the army, can you still ruck 12 miles with a 60 pound ruck and a machine gun. How about your pt testing?
I hope I'm wrong saying this but when the day comes that someone my age has to fight to defend his country, it will most likely be on home soil.
If that day comes, I will fight to the very end!
id be with ya brother, we may not act like some animals do from other countries, but if the red white and blue is ever in jeopardy, i dont think theres one american, who wouldnt do what they would have to do to defend this country
Been to Berkeley lately? Some of those folks are just pathetic.
Pop
lol, forgot about that, probably the same for p-town ma, i didnt see to many war hungry characters around there either......but i sure bet they could turn around a naval fleet when they reached the coast line. it would look like we where welcoming home our own sailors
