Just bought me an 02 F-250 crewcab 4x4 this past weekend. never had a vehicle before with grease fittings all over the front end. what type of grease do you guys use and how often do you need to grease everything. Thanks
Thats good that you have alot of fittings.I believe they come with non greasable joints.Which would mean they have all been changed by now.And not left for you to foot the bill.
Not my original.I heard or read it somewhere over the years. But its fitting for me.She always says"if you want to know what something costs.Just ask me and then double it"
surely at some point, all be them potentially different points, it is fitting for us all. Especially when it comes to the prices of guns!! (for me anyway)
I do mine every oil change....doesn't take much to over-flow them though! Just do a few sprirts on each one, don't over do it! It will continue to ooze out after it gets warm
I'm using RONEX MP from Exxon - been very happy w/ it. Meets a bunch of heavy truck (Mack/Volvo/Navistar) requirements for operating life, load shearing req's, etc. The main thing is to choose a grease that meets or exceeds the Ford spec listed in the manual - I always try to hit the exceed side of the mark when I can. This is really important especially if your oil change intervals are out @ the 5-6K or 6month range - you need a grease that can last that long since most people don't lube btw oil changes - some of the thinner greases will be gone after 4-5 months leaving you w/o lubrication and stuff will wear at a quicker rate.
I'm having some difficulties finding it right now. The local Advance Auto/Autozone's used to carry it all the time and now they suddenly seem to have stopped carrying it. They are only carrying some generic junk that I'd never use on anything I cared about.
