All, I just bought a 2005 Limited 6.0. It is bone stock with 29K miles. It will be used as a daily driver with towing duty once a month (7000#). What, if any, upgrades make sense? I want to optimize MPG, torque and fun w/o messing up the warrantee or truck. Thank you in advance. Ken
Bob's list is a good one...the only thing I'll throw out there is I disagree with #5 on it.
The radius rods address a SPECIFIC item that plagues the Ex's...that is true...but it is my opinion that there are other means that are both cheaper and address multiple issues with our Ex...so it is my strong opinion to substitute #5 with either V/B spring pack replacement (do a seach on that) or the RoadMaster Active suspension (RAS).
I'm not bashing the radius rods...but you mention towing a trailer...as I do...the radius rods WILL resolve one aspect of the woeful handling of our Ex's...
But when towing...we need another item resolved...and that is rear spring capacity.
So that's why I suggest either the V/B code spring swap or the RAS...as they fix TWO aspects with ONE mod (axle wrapping AND added rear spring capacity).
The other items are what I would consider needed items...I just disagree with #5 for those of us that tow...because you will need ANOTHER item to resolve the rear end sagging in addition to the radius rods...that's all...
Again...WELCOME to the Ex club!
joe.

By the time you buy individual gauges...you'll have way more in that setup that this...and personally I like the look of this mounting option on the Ex...
