Thanks Robb it did, by the way how can you tell if its a Cal model, and also looks like you have my truck a 4x4 what kinda milage do you get and what gears are in yours, mine only about 10 and has 3.54 gears with 35 tires thinking of regearing to pull my trailer better, can't beleive they put such a high gear in these trucks that pull trailers, i've had a 99, 03,05, and the best was the 99 but I don't remember the gear ratio, the 05 had the tow boss package and pulled great with the 4.30 but sucked fuel, the os had 3.73 and pulled ok but still went in and out of OD, so I thinking the 99 might have had 4.10 gears, good fuel and never droped below 10 when pulling 30000lbs,...

Cal truck are California trucks, I forget all of the details but I know they have Split shot injectors. I believe that it's because Cali has stricter emissions testing? I think there's a number in the VIN that tells, someone else can chime in here...

As for gears, if there stock you either have 3.55 or 4.10. At 80, i'm turning just around 2200 RPM's. Here is another thread for you
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...-75-80mph.html
I'm getting about 17MPG Unloaded at 75-80. Mods to my truck are listed in sig. also my chip was on E-con, 75HP setting. Let me know if you have any more questions, I'd be happy to help!

Humm... wonder why it won't let you PM? if you want you can shoot me an E-mail at onefasttruck(at)gmail.com ... the at will be an @ sign obv...

millage Is dependant on a bunch of things, you could have 2 identical trucks and get different millage. I've worked this truck over from stock to what it is now. With every mod it goes up a bit... but it sll depends on how heavy you are with the right foot! If I'm hot-footing around town it will go down to 12, but with diesel at 3.50 a gallon, i'm usually light on the GO pedal. I would defiantly recommended the 6637 filer. Do you still have a cat and muffler? Gut it and dump the muffler, also toss the stock DP and get something 3"... May want to run some power-service through her HARD to get any junk cleaned out. then try and calc millage again.

Yep, Ford service manual on DVD. Covers all cars too! I got it on ebay for $28 shipped to my door. Best $$ I ever spent IMO. It takes a while to figure out how to navigate around the info but it's worth the effort. BTW: I have manuals up to 2007. Some were pirated off the 'net but the site was shut down for copyright laws.

Robb,
Have no muffler or cat. what do you suggest to run thru the fuel? What do you mean by DP? I don't drive very hard either, but with tires and gears now have to get her going,..

DP= DownPipe, the pipe that goes from the exhaust side of the turbo down by the firewall and bolts up to where your cat was. The stock DP is crushed like a pancake to fit in there and restricts airflow. As for additive, you could try power service. I run that in every tank. I don't have tires that big, but I'm guessing the combo of 35's and 3.55's is whats hurting you... I have 3.55's and +1 or 2 i think from stock. There not that big. Might be taking alot of power to get them turning. 4.10's might improve you millage.

3.55 and 35's are not helping.
Also check the running temp of the motor.
To cold is a no no for your MPG.

Thanks guys, I'll check running temp ,I know when I was pulling the trailer it went up quite a bit, and even higher in OD, Also I have a POD for guages and a Booster guage, its a 2 pod what other guage would you recommend, and the DP do you have to modify the firewall some to install the bigger one. And while I am thinking whats the guys name that makes the covers for the 6637 filter?
