Bodies And Frames
I know the the cabs and front ends will swap onto any frame regardless of the Ford truck for the 70's, and that the beds will swap if they are of equal wheelbase design.
But here's my question, would a standard cab and long box from a, say 1984 Ford F150, swap onto the frame of a '74 F100 and vice versa?
Although I'm not too serious at this point, I realized today that, mechanically, I was quite happy with my F150. Synthetic fluids all around, the 300 Six only has 30,000 miles on it, everything is in good shape...this setup has worked well for a long time and continues to do so.
But I like the body style of '73-'79 trucks better. And my '74 actually has less rust and less paint fade. The chrome is a little more dull, but not worthless. However, the F100 has a rusted up/very dirty chassis, it's all beat up underneath, the 360 is reliable but tired, the C6 is pretty much junk, and mechanically, it just needs a lot of work. I'd like to have my '74 F100 body on my '84 F150 chassis.
What about the dashboards?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
