Last year I went over some railroad tracks and soemthing broke. IDK what broke yet but ever since than my beds been saggin real bad. Look like a 500lb guy is in the drivers seat....Any idea what this could be. It makes a good clunking noise if the bed is empty.
It could be a broken leaf spring but there is a common issue with Rangers in that the leaf spring hanger brackets, especially the fronts, break, and the front of the spring is floating in thin air. They just rust through over time. If you have leaf spring issues, especially the broken brackets, it is not safe to drive. I'd get it to a frame and spring shop ASAP if you are unsure.
I had my rear leaf spring break on me where it makes the "C" around the bushing. Somehow it didn't come out (prolly rusted in place) and the piece that broke off was still lying on top. 10 minute job with the welder and it was all better.
Although this is my winter transportation, so if I don't have to spend money on it all the better. My local junk yard is a rip off, so if I can fix it for free all the better.

you welded on the spring????? thats not good its gonna break.
both of my middle leafs broke forward of the axle and the drivers side rubbed and punctured my tire. the pass just fell off. i changed both springs for under $80 bucks. its really really not safe to weld on spring steel. but the shackles are ok.

Yes I welded on the leaf spring. (got very good penetration with the welder ) Like I said on the spring where it curves over and forms the "C" around the bushing. on the top portion. yes not a good idea, but like I said this is a winter truck, and with what my local yard bends you over for parts, it's been fine for 3 months now, as the rear springs get plently of movment and load/shock (bumps, 400lbs of sand in the back)

Well, actually I saw that you've been driving it like that for a while so I over-exagerated in my last post . But in all seriousness you really should get it fixed very soon, it's not all that safe to be driving around like that.
