Harmonic Balancer slipped?
I have a 84 f150 with a 351W. I had the carb. rebuilt and was going to set the timing. I filled the timing mark on the balancer with white shoe polish so I could see it. The timing mark is 180 degrees out from where it should be. I had to point the timing light under the truck to see where it was showing up. The truck runs really well, but I noticed a slight hesitation, so I was doing a routine tune-up. I know this truck had a "RV" cam put in it before I bought it. Would this make the timing mark show up like it is or do you think the balancer slipped? Thanks for your help. Oh, the truck does have a slight vibration at idle I can't tune out.
