Hi all, I have a '91 f-150, I6 5 speed on the floor, and no turn signals or hazards. No biggie, I pulled and replaced the flasher, last one was 9 years old... still no blinking love... all other lights work, headlights, brake lights, running lights... I'm reading about this Turn Signal (or multifunction?) switch, how likely is this to be my problem? Any tips on getting into the column to replace this part?
(I ran search on this topic, couldn't find much related to this model/year. Thought I'd go to the source, help much appreciated)
Anyone? Bueller? Should I have changed the title of this thread to "horsepower mods"?
An update - my brake lights do NOT flash when the pedal is depressed during braking, athough the lamp itself comes on when I turn on the lights at night. So... no turn signals, no flashers, no brake lights... am I looking in the right place with the multi-function switch?
Since you have tail lites your grounds are ok.
Find the connector under the dash or near the drivers door pillar that feeds the rear harness, uncouple it and put 12v to test the bbrake/signal lites. A long shot, but both could be out or the pigtails bad.
The turn and brake lites both are controlled thru the turn signal switch.
Make sure you changed the right flasher, not the 4 way one.
The multiswitch isn't that hard to change, just don't remember. Take the cover off to see.
