Which turbo did the '01 PSD come out with? The reason I'm asking is that my dad's truck (which is the '01) has a turbo with a compressor side that is stamped 1.00 A/R.
I only ask, and I know its been talked about. and you always seem to have a good answer.
I am looking to get a re-built stocker with the Banks kit (westgate, exhaust housing I think and wheel)
now I am not looking to get crazy HP, just a little perk to the stock one. this was suggested by a localish shop. but what really gets me is I can get a new one from other sites, for about the same price whather there good or not I dont know.
I dont want to have to add more to one mod, to make it work. I am already doing up-pipes while in there. and don't want to spend the bank either.
You can buy a 1.0 wastegated housing, EBPV delete outlet and the EBPV delete pedestal, with a WW for probably much less than that banks crap is going to charge you. Don't bother with that overpriced junk wastegate.
doesn't taking the EBPV part out take away the high Idle when cold?? I do know its one less place to leak.
so if I get the re-built turbo and add the 1.0 westegated housing (exhaust right) them change the pedistal will be an up-graded turbo shall say?
Dave's right... high idle, when 'cold' is controlled/created by temperature sensors. Doing the delete, you'll lose the jet engine sound of the EBPV closing but not the way the idle elevates.
No when you take the EBPV out you will still have your high idle.
Hey Dave, not to highjack the thread, but what do you know about this little shop full of PSD's next to the 'Naylor Store?' Noticed about five of them in there Friday evening...
I have no idea what did you find ??? Give me a call, I think I PMed you the other night with my #.
I got your PM, I'll give you a call.
But anyway, picking up the Volvo form Don out there at Volvo's Only and when I was leaving I noticed at the shop next (don't know the name, it's the only one!) to the Naylor Store that there were several PSD Ford's and a couple of Dudges with a handful of gentlemen standing outside the bay doors, looking at me in disbelief as I chugged on by...
