I started my truck this morning and had an interesting problem. It as cold, but not extremely....bout 33. The truck started fine, but it started doing short revs and wouldn't idle. It went from idle to about 900 RPMS over and over until I held the throttle down. I have been running the UC tune from Matt..... Any ideas?
yup. git the cold start fix from matt. the hotter tunes are a little more cranky when it gets chilly. Its about -15 up here today and with the hybrid race and a big cold fix from matt it sounds like a 454 with the biggest loped cam you could find. I love it. Snorts black smoke in between lopes. just think of it as waking up the beast for the day!

hahahah.....is the cold fix just an addition he does to the file?
That I couldn't tell ya 100 percent on, havent had the cold tune in warm weather yet. she works fine in 36 degrees but i havent seen much warmer than that with the cold fix. Might want to talk to matt when you get ahold of him. I was going to try him tonight and Ill ask it if hes around and let ya know if I find anything out.
Both the UC and Hybrid files are pretty cranky when the temperatures drop. ICP is fairly high on both files to deliver large quantities of fuel; and with the lowered timing used as of late the fuel just doesn't completely burn in the cylinder until engine temperatures are warm. It certainly doesn't do any harm; other than loping and carrying on and freaking out the neighbors

What a PU$$3Y :0 It is 33 and my truck is cold! Must be a Virginia thing. Last week it was 15, 40+ winds and 3 feet of snow on the ground!! Try living at 8000 feet.
Seriously though, are you running Diesel Klean? When mine is cold she smokes like a steam Locomotive for the first 5 minutes unless I am running double dose of diesel klean.
15! That sounds like summer! last week we had 40-50 mph gust and the temp was -30 and the windchill was more like -50! no 3 feet of snow, though id rather have the snow!
