transmission problems

i have a 94 ford f 150 pickup with 4.9 engine it has e4od transmission with 3,000 miles on transmission overhall can drive it 25 - 30 miles and will shift perfect then does not want to shift after leaving it set for a period you can get drive it another 25 - 30 miles and it will shift perfect again. i have been told it is a sticking valve in the valve body? i would appreciate any help i can get. thank you.

have you tried changing the fluid and filter?

you getting any codes???some trans problems will show up as codes

sounds like they didn't get trans clean dirty filter.

what exactly did 'overhaul' include?
