I want to replace the O2 sensors (at least the front ones) on my 1998 Explorer 4.0 L, SOHC, V6. Other than the left front (drivers side), the access looks to be difficult, expecially the wiring harness, even if I splice in the new ones. Any tips on this will be appreciated! Thanks
Yes they are tough to get at, but undo the harness up to the plug and use a box wrench to remove the O2's... yes the instructions say use the correct socket....but! P
I read that on the 1996 the front O2s can be accessed by an panel that is under the center console...making them reachable from inside. Just a thought.

That would be nice, but he says he has a 98,and my 97 has no secret trap doors
