94 E250, convert suspension to E150?

So, I have a 94 E250 which I use for delivery of baked goods. The problem is that since the E250 sits much higher than the E150, our shorter drivers have trouble reaching the top shelf of the custom rack welded to the floor (top shelf at the rear door sits just over 6' from the ground) - since the load is light, I don't need the heavier suspension. My question is, what would be involved in converting the suspension to the E150 spec, or at least dropping the van down? Is it just a matter of changing out the front coils and the rear leafs? Or is it more involved than that?

I believe the frames are different widths...front would go way out of alingment when lowered...so many problems and cost.

What about a custom step bumper?
