I just pulled the 460 from my brothers 86 f-250 4x4 before he scrapped it...for use in a yet to be found f-150 short box 2wd....I kept the motor mounts - but didnt take the frame mounted motor mount towers from the 460 truck.....never gave it a thought.....was looking on ebay today and saw "460 motor mount towers" for sale - my question is.....do the 80-97 F series trucks have DIFFERENT motor mount towers for the different size engines????

No not a stupid Idea... The only stupid one is the one that is not asked. There is a guy on ebay who sells motor mounts for change over. His name is rick. Do a search for 460 motor mounts on there and you will find him. He can tell you what you need to know. He also sells conversation kits to mount up.
