however, i could not get the washers to seat right in the brass sleeve at all. instead i used the washers to shim the FPR cap. I used 3 washers and filed them down until they fit flush in the cap. I have not bought supplies to hook up the fuel pressure gauge so I'm not sure where that put me as far as pressure. Does the thickness of the 3 #2 washers i used even compare to the hex head bolt many people are using to shim theirs?
I need to get a fuel pressure gauge to see where im at for sure but i was lookign for smarter peoples opinions
Well, I have not used the washer method as I felt better about the #4 40 hex head. At any rate you really need to be prepared with a gauge to see what it does. That is before and after the mod. Right now you have no idea what it is doing, and that write-up was a bit lacking in pics. The manual says excessive pressure will result in reduced pump life which means early failure. At least get a gauge on it.
Probably better to go with a single screw shim than a 2 to 4 piece shim. Less to fuss with. If you know about the #4/40 screw than you have most likely seen this but I'll post this link anyway http://www.puredieselpower.com/Tech/...tor%20Shim.pdf
PDF does store easier,I covert almost all my saves to PDF
I should get the complete PDF program. All I have is the read and no write. But at least it lets me save PDF format. I usually have to copy and paste to
wordpad or if it has pictures than I copy and paste to a word proceesor.
