transmission swap
i think i posted in the wrong area kinda new to this. I have a 92 all that is bad is tranny and an 88 with just a bad motor but i like 92 better would it be more feasible to put the 88 auto tranny in 92 manual truck or 92 motor in 88 auto truck. Any advise is welcome. both are 4x4 and both have 302 only major difference besides a couple options is the auto vs manual.

My '88 Auto has the AOD tranny, which I am not fond of. Real tricky to get it to shift corectly. During the swap, you will ned to take over to the '92 the shift cable and possibly the throttle lever at the throttlebody.
