Wiper wiring conversion help needed.

I am in process of installing a Ranger wiper motor on our 1960. We have the new motor in place following krautwolf's gallery.

I have the intermittent switch from an early 80's F150.

OK here is the deal. 4 wires from the motor, black, red, white and blue.

6 wires on the plug coming from the 80's vintage intermittent switch, see photo below. The red plug goes in the switch I already installed in the dash. The black plug will be removed and wired direct since I don't have the mating plug.

There are 6 wires on the black plug.

1) One black going to the red plug thus to the switch- I assume this is where I should hook up the power supply.

2) Another black going to the "box" - I assume this goes to the black wire from the motor.

3) Red going to the "box" - I assume this goes to the red motor wire

4) White going to the "box" - I assume this wire goes to the white motor wire

5) Blue going to the red plug thus to the switch - I assume this goes to the blue motor wire

6) Black with a white tracer going to the red plug thus to the switch - I assume this is for a washer which I don't have.

I would really like someone to double check my logic, I don't want to hurt my new wiper motor.

Thanks for the help.

Your logic seems correct, but I'd put a 5A circuit breaker in each line to the motor until you verify a "no smoke" configuration!

I just wanted to close the loop on this for future reference. As shown in the wiring diagram and from my actual installation. The way I described the wiring in the above quote is correct. There is many pictures and details in my gallery.
