I have a 2001 Supercrew, there is an annoying rattle which appears to be coming from behind the passenger side air bad compartment. It only happens when it's cold outside as the truck warms it stops. Anyone have anything simular happen? It's driving me nuts!
Mine does the same thing also. That is my biggest gripe about my truck is the noises/rattles on the interior. I love my truck though, just hate the noises! I have learned to crank the radio up and try to block them out...
I don't know if this will help or not, but for the longest time I thought the rattle was in my dash.. Until my arm rubbed up against my gear shift while trying to push on the dash to stop the rattle. when my arm touched the shifter the rattle went away.. wich I solved by modifying a damper for the lever that is located under the steering columb plastic.
Mine have a few spots that get going when it's cold, hard to stop all of them. I have a small screw driver I put in a seam and move along until the rattle stops. As I move it around, and get it to stop, I fold up a small piece of like computer paper and wedge down in there. You can't see it, seems to solve the problem... until another one pops up in the future. I think my solution is to move south... yeah...that's the ticket...

LOL!!! I think you are right, the colder it is the noiser it gets. I like when it's warm and I can roll all the windows down, crank the tunes up and then it's a nice quiet ride!...
