I just returned from Afghanistan about ten days ago (BIG RED 1) and couldn't wait to work on the truck...I went to a local salvage yard yesterday to get a frame for my 55, its been years since I went to this yard. This was the first time I actually looked at every vehicle there once I found the frame I wanted I went scouting while they took the cab and suspension off. They had a few 53-56 trucks with engines, all the doors except two probably needed the entire lower sections replaced. I found a straight tailgate however, it had pin holes in the lower section which could be covered with body filler. There were lots of the X-brands with good cabs also, lots of cars. I thought maybe I could find a hood ornament but no luck. To bad I didn't my camera. The frame is in excellent shape as far as the naked eye can tell, I'll get some pic in next week once I start cutting off the brackets and fitting the TCI rear suspension. Hopefull by next barring Murphy I'll have everything transferred to the new frame.
