fix-a-flat

PS: DO NOT USE "FIX-a-FLAT"!!! Carry a plugging kit, and know how to use it!
I'd about guarantee that you've wrecked your rim with that stuff...

Can anybody guess why?

The only thing Ive seen wrong with it is its really annoying for the next guy who has to take the tire off. Does it do any real damage?

It's good in an emergency, we allways took a couple of can when we went 4-wheeling with out atv's, it helped a lot in a bad situation. However, it does mess up the rims snd what not, I don't see a need to use it on a road vehicle, there's better options.

It's also known to give a tire an uneven roll depending on how well it spread inside the tire.

I have used Fix-A-Flat quite a few times with no problems at all. Never had rim damage. It does make a mess for the next tire installer/uninstaller to deal with. Used plugs on my S-10 Blazer, and both tires I plugged ended up having the tread separate from the steel belts.

For the $3.00 a can it makes sense for a lot of people!! My woman wouldn't probably
have the ability to line up the puncture and the strength to push the reamer in not
to mention pushing the plug in!! If she can hook the nozzle up and air up and repair
the leak in 7 minutes versuses spending 20 minutes finding the leak, reaming, plugging
and refilling the tire it is worth The price of the most expensive spinning bling rim in
the world, IF WHILE SITTING THERE FOR AN EXTRA 13 minutes ends up with some
jerk DUI smashing into her car or some psycho pulling up To HELP!! I would rather deal
with a "RUINED RIM" then have to deal with that!!!! If fix aflat is used as directed it
will not have any problem, You have to fill the tire and immediately drive it to spread
the juice around the inside of the tire, Centrifugal force keeps the juice away from
the rim as long as you do it like instructed!! HOw much does anyone want to bet that
he is a tire tech at pepboys or something and he got his shirt and hands dirty and
sticky from some fix a flat AWWWW!!! Now that green slime stuff that is another story
there is no need for that crap!!

At the place I used to work at we wouldnt patch a tire with fix a flat. They told us it messed with the adhesive or something for the patches. I honestly think it was BS and just a way to get people to buy more tires, but whatever. Also it makes it almost impossible to find the leak because it plugs it up for the time being.

If someone puts that stuff in their tire I never even bothered to clean it up (back when we DID fix them). Anyone ever take a tire off a rim that has fix-a-flat in it? It nearly makes you pass out.

Also, blue beast: Do they use ethanol in the gasoline sold in Florida?
