Hey guys, I've got an early 99' and I'm needing ot know what to expect as far as horsepower limits on the stock internals. I'm thinking of stepping up to the D66 turbo and some injectors (I'm undecided as to which ones) and upgrading the HPOP. Just wondering if its gonna be too much for the shortblock.
your good for what your doing.should beable to go to 500 hp...i called on the D66 before..they said i could see 412 HP with a set of split shots and some tuning with that turbo...

Awesome, thanks! I'd really like to be somewhere around 400-450hp and was a little nervous the internals wouldn't agree
Your bottom end would be fine for that, but limit boost to 35psi so you aren't pushing the limit as far as popping a headgasket. You start to float a head at around 38-40psi of boost, and you need to do headstuds in order to keep the heads planted.

I have enough problems lifting heads with my Lightning, I sure dont need that trouble with this. LOL Thanks for the info.
If i were you, i would go with 160cc single shots, with nozzle mods, get .0075" nozzzles if you tow, otherwise get .008's, Extrudehoned. Ask for those specifics too when you buy. The stage two singles are usually 160cc, which is otherwise a stage one if i didn't have nozzle modifications.
